Artist Statement My jewelry is largely inspired by the shapes, colors, textures, and patterns found in nature. I am endlessly trying to pinpoint exactly what it is that draws me to each form, then capture its essence in my jewelry. Artist BioAmber R. Chesebro was born in Narragansett, Rhode Island and moved to New Harbor, Maine when she was 6 years old. At the age of 20 she moved back to Rhode Island and began taking community college art classes, determined to build a portfolio and getting accepted into Rhode Island School of Design's Jewelry program. Within a year she was offered a half Scholarship by RISD and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2008. While at RISD Chesebro was also awarded the jewelry department's award of excellence, the Dorothy Nisbet Kison Scholarship. Her jewelry has exhibited extensively in the New England area in fine stores such as the Didi Suydam gallery in Newport, Rhode Island. She is an assistant at Catherine Weitzman Jewelry and lives and works in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she has been working to develop her first complete line of jewelry.
