Gordon K. Uyehara - metal (silver)

Artist Statement:

I am currently a freelance artist/designer and an Art Clay Silver Senior Instructor in Honolulu, Hawaii. Formerly employed as an information technology professional, I grew weary of Web design as a rather convoluted method of expression and was thrilled to discover Art Clay Silver in a local workshop.

Working with silver clay led me to reconnect with an attraction to small scale design and wearable art. My motivation is to create pieces that are familiar and yet interestingly seductive and to explore the outer design limits of this relatively new art form. I am slowly incorporating traditional metalsmithing techniques into my work.
