Artist Statement

Knitting. It’s not something you expect to find in Hawaii. Much of my knitting isn’t what you expect, either. While I have always made, and will continue to make, more traditional garments and accessories, much of my knitting is exceptionally unexpected and unconventional.

My most unusual piece is called “Addiction” and it shows the progression and damage of the disease of addiction. I’d never considered such an unusual project before, but when the idea came to me, I had to create it.

My art in some ways is like my life: I never expected any of it to look like it does, but I am very glad that it does.
